UK SEES BOOST IN MANUFACTURING, BUT SLOWER EXPORTS
Manufacturing in the UK increased in January, according to Markit Purchasing Managers’ Index, a series which tracks business indications.
The index moved up from 52.1 in December to 52.9 in January.

SOUTH KOREA’S EXPORTS FALL TO FRESH LOWS
South Korea’s exports weakened to levels not seen since the financial crisis in 2009, according to reports on Monday.
South Korea’s exports fell by 18.6 per cent in January‚ a level not seen since August 2009.
US CONSUMER SPENDING STAYS UNCHANGED
US consumer spending held steady in December, according to the country’s commerce department, but savings increased to a three-year-high, which could boost spending in coming months.
