Global markets: US sees more jobs in private sector

WINNIPEG, February 3 – The following is a glance at the news moving markets globally.

US PRIVATE SECTOR ADDS MORE JOBS IN JANUARY
Private employers in the US added 205,000 jobs in January, according to reports out of the country.

The gain was above analyst expectations, but behind December’s upwardly revised figure of 267,000.

The country’s labour department is expected to release all non-farm job data on Friday.

UK ECONOMY EXPECTED TO STAY ON SAME GROWTH PATH
Despite global turbulence, Britain’s economic growth is expected to stay unchanged from a previous projection, according to a research agency within the country.

Britain’s economy is expected to grow by 2.3 per cent this year, which is unchanged from a previous forecast made in November, according to the National Institute of Economic and Social Research.

UKRAINE’S ECONOMIC MINISTER RESIGNS
Ukraine’s economic minister announced he would be resigning on Wednesday, according to reports out of the country, citing official corruption as a cause.
