WINNIPEG, November 8 – The following is a glance at the news moving markets globally.

– The US dollar moved lower in early activity on Tuesday, pressured by US presidential election-day jitters.

– Canadian housing starts dropped in October, a report from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) said on Tuesday.

At a seasonally adjusted rate condo starts fell 15.3 per cent, while single-detached urban starts dropped 5.4 per cent from September.

Total October housing starts fell to 192,928 units.
