‘During recent years the deluge of so-called “cowboy” songs, on the radio and screen as well as upon other programs, presented by folks attired in cowboy garb, sometimes accompanied by “cowboy” orchestra and bands has had a field day, not to mention the many recordings made of this type of song.
Through such mediums, there have been introduced many songs that old-time cowpokes claim are far from the ones sung in the early days, and of course it is of that period of trail drives, open range roundups, etc., that the majority of these songs deal, as well as with incidents connected with those men and their work.
