The Canadian Angus Association has named Medicine Hat Feeding Co. of Medicine Hat, Alta., the Auction Market of the Year award. Director of business development for Sask./Man. Bob Toner presented the award to Jay Syverson, partner with Medicine Hat Feeding Co. at the Livestock Markets Association of Canada annual conference in Lloydminster, Sask., in May.
Medicine Hat Feeding Co. was formed in 1952 by the Taylor and Thompson families. In addition to the livestock auction, Medicine Hat Feeding Co. operates a livestock supply store with feed, fencing and grooming supplies. The operation employs 25 people.

Miller has been representing the Alberta Cattle Feeders’ Association (ACFA) since 2012 and has been an active member on the executive committee since 2018.
Howard Bekkering of the Alberta Beef Producers is the vice-chair, Dr. Oliver Schunicht of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association is finance chair, Ivan Johnson of the Maritime Beef Council and Ken Perlich of the Livestock Markets Association of Canada are both executive members.
