Ag in Motion (AIM) kicked off at Glacier FarmMedia’s Discovery Farm site near Langham, Sask. on July 19. This is the first time the event has been hosted in person since 2019 due to COVID.
Show director Rob O’Connor says it’s good to be back on the grounds.
“We have all been looking forward to this week for quite some time, and we are thrilled to see the site come to life once again with a total of 543 exhibitors.”

O’Connor says that the livestock section of the show is larger than ever. More than 60 companies showcased livestock-related services and products, alongside speakers and demonstrations O’Connor says he expects the sector to continue expanding.
“The exhibitors that I’ve talked to so far, they seem to be pretty happy,” he says. “I’d say the attendees find it even more useful for them because more of those types of exhibits are accumulated in one area so they don’t have to travel as far if that’s all they’ve come to see. We still have some changes that we’ll make next year after we’ve been able to analyze what everybody says about that area. And I expect it’s an area that will continue to grow. It has for the past three shows, and I don’t see any reason for it not to.”

On Wednesday morning, O’Connor announced the numbers for the first day of Ag in Motion, saying that over 9,000 people attended the event on Tuesday. Those numbers were very similar to what the event looked like in 2019, with even more attendees on Wednesday, he says.
“This show feels a lot like where we left off in 2019. And again, with yesterday’s attendance, it was very close to 2019 as well. We ended up with 12,945 through the gates yesterday. And in 2019, we had 12,600. So again, it’s it just feels like we got right back to where we were in 2019.”
