Canadian Financial Close: C$ weakens

WINNIPEG – The Canadian dollar was weaker on Wednesday, taking back Tuesday’s gains.
The Canadian dollar settled at US$0.7745 or US$1=C$1.2912 on Wednesday, which compares with Tuesday’s close of US$0.7772 or US$1=C$1.2867.
The softer tone in the currency came despite gains in crude oil, with West Texas Intermediate crude oil up by 1.43 per cent at US$87.77 per barrel.
The TSX Composite Index was lower, down 88.53 points or 0.44 per cent to close at 20,181.44 points.

Maple Leaf Foods—————–up $ 0.29 at $ 23.74
Nutrien Ltd.———————up $ 0.84 at $118.27
Ritchie Bros Auctioneers Inc.—-up $ 0.43 at $ 91.33
Farmers Edge Inc.—————-dn $ 0.07 at $ 0.91
