  • Approximately 155,000 federal public servants in Canada have now voted in favour of strike mandates. On Wednesday, the Treasury Board group of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) announced their 120,000 members voted overwhelmingly for a strike mandate. That particular branch of PSAC now has until June 10 to call a strike. Other branches of the union voted earlier this week on their strike mandates. Public servants are seeking wage increases that keep pace with inflation. A spokesperson for the federal government said the goal is to reach a deal as soon as possible and that “significant headway” had been made over the last week.
