Recipients of the Spirit of the Impact Show Award.

Congratulations to former general manager of the Canadian Limousin Association, Tessa Verbeek and her husband Colin Verbeek of Hillview Farms, Morinville, Alta., on the birth of their son Heath Colin Verbeek on September 22. Heath joins proud big sister Rylin. Everyone is happy and healthy! 

Chad Homer is the new vice-president of the Canadian Limousin Association. He and his family operate Pinch Hill Limousin at Stittsville, Ont. They raise Limousin seedstock along with Simmentals, Shorthorns and Angus. Homer enjoys being involved with youth development, provincial and national boards as well as serving as chair of the beef show for the Royal Winter Fair. He brings a solutions-based approach to his role on the board and is always willing to step into leadership positions to move projects forward. Along with his role as vice-president, he is also the chair of the breed improvement, registry and the 2024 Impact show committees.

As part of the Canadian Junior Limousin Association Impact Show, congratulations go to Cedar Hayne of Gull Lake, Sask., who was chosen by her peers to receive the Bee Zee Acres Sportsmanship Award! (photo above) Hayne is a positive, team player who is always there to help others succeed. The award was sponsored by the Zwambag family. The association appreciates the continued support of this important award.

Congratulations as well to the Campbell family of Ferme Cosa SENC of Henryville, Que. (photo below). The Campbells won the Herdsman Award, in memory of Judy Hunt, at Impact. Thank you to the Hunt family for sponsoring this special award.

And finally, the association announced the Spirit of the Impact Show Award recipients (see photo at top). The award is in loving memory of Kylee Jade Stewart. Recipients are selected by the Stewart and Rodgers families and presented to Junior or Inter- mediate competitors who show up and work hard. The money received for this award is intended to be used to purchase livestock or livestock equipment. The 2023 award recipients are Jaiden Stull, Sharlotte Stewart, Sam Haley and Dexter Stewart.
