- After the United Nations suspended its humanitarian aid deliveries into the Gaza Strip due to fuel shortages, Israel announced on Friday that it will permit only two fuel trucks per day into the enclave to allow the UN to continue its work. However, the UN also said telecommunications in and out of Gaza must be restored as well.

- Caught up in a bear market, crude oil prices dropped for a fourth-consecutive week as of Friday. On top of that, a report stated West Texas Intermediate has lost more than 20 per cent of its value since September. With supply outstripping demand globally prices have fallen. There could be some support coming from continued production cuts by Saudi Arabia and Russia.
- IBM announced on Friday it has suspended its advertising on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. IBM stated it was “completely unacceptable” that its ads appeared beside posts praising Adolf Hitler. A spokesperson for X said they don’t intentionally place ads beside such content.
- The Federal Court of Canada, which hears legal matters pertaining to businesses, quashed the federal cabinet order on Friday that listed single-use plastic items as toxic. That included straws, grocery bags and takeout containers. The court said the definition of what is toxic under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act was too broad.
