- Hamas and Israel have agreed to a four-day ceasefire, according to reports, with at least 50 Israeli hostages to be released by Hamas in exchange for at least 150 Palestinians jailed in Israel. The truce was reached through mediation by Qatar. The conflict that started with a Hamas attack on Israel on Oct. 7 has killed thousands and left the Palestinian enclave of Gaza under siege.
