- Israel’s security Cabinet officially recommended the approval of a ceasefire deal with Hamas, with the agreement now set to go before the full Cabinet. If the deal is approved the 15-month conflict could be paused as early as Sunday. Far-right members of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition have opposed the ceasefire deal, and there are concerns that their objections could destabilize the government.
- Canadian investors increased their holdings of foreign securities by C$17.8 billion in November, while foreign investors upped their Canadian holdings by C$16.4 billion, reported Statistics Canada. As a result, the Canadian economy saw a net outflow of C$1.4 billion during the month.
