Chicago cattle and lean hog futures continued to climb on Wednesday.
Most-active October live cattle futures closed at 239.525 cents per pound, up 1.325 cents. December live cattle settled at 240.900 cents, up 0.975 cents a pound.
Most-active October feeder contracts closed at 364.200 cents a pound, up 0.425 cents. September feeders settled at 365.400 cents a pound, up 0.350 cents.
Choice boxed beef was valued at $411.84 per cwt in the USDA’s afternoon report—a loss of $1.33. Select boxed beef lost $3.05 to end the day at $387.71 per cwt.
Most-traded October lean hog futures settled at 93.900 cents per pound—a gain of 0.475 cents. December lean hogs closed at 86.500 cents a pound, up 0.575 cents.
Pork carcass cutout value sat at $111.66 per cwt, down $1.39.
