DuPont Canada has picked up regulatory approval for use of its herbicide tank-mix Harmony K in durum wheat crops.
Harmony K combines the herbicides Refine Extra, Horizon and Banvel II in a lone 40-acre box along with Score, an adjuvant to improve the tank mix.
The approval, announced Monday, clears the Harmony tank mix to control wild oats, green foxtail and a number of broadleaf weeds including Group 2-resistant kochia, the company said.
The company said it plans to roll out Harmony K this year using its Solumax soluble granule chemistry, which it said allows the granulated product to dissolve in water about as completely as a liquid product.

Not all Harmony K available for the 2008 season will have Solumax, but all production of Harmony is expected to use that chemistry by 2009, the company said.
The use of Solumax is expected to allow Harmony K to be used to control five-leaf wild buckwheat as well as fall and spring dandelion rosettes below 15 cm. The updated tank mix will also allow for “more consistent” control of Group 2-resistant kochia, the company said.
