WINNIPEG, June 23 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Thursday, June 23.
– Russia is preparing to harvest more barley than last year despite the lower global demand for grain. Farmers may reap as much as 18.5 million tonnes of barley, mostly used as feed, after a warm winter and rains benefitted crops, according to Agricultural Market Studies in Moscow.
– Indonesia imported 2.9 million tonnes of wheat in the first quarter of this year, 500,000 tonnes of which went to feedmills, according to the Indonesian Feed Producers Association.

– Brazil’s corn imports will rise to a 16-year high due to the supply squeeze prompted by a disappointing safrinha crop, according to reports. Better known as the second-ranked corn exporter, Brazil will see its imports swell from 330,000 tonnes last season to 1.5 million tonnes in 2015-16.
– Top end feed barley prices remain steady in the C$3.55 to
C$4.42 per bushel range in Western Canada, according to
Prairie Ag Hotwire. Feed wheat also remained steady with top
end prices ranging from C$5.75 to C$6.48 per bushel.
