WINNIPEG, July 7 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Thursday, July 7.
– Zimbabwe is experiencing one of its worst agricultural seasons since the drought of 1992/93, with corn and wheat production declining, according to reports. El Nino-induced drought caused corn production for 2016/17 to decline by approximately 43 per cent to 400,000 tonnes, and wheat is only expected to reach about 16,000 tonnes.
– Wheat harvest is wrapping up in parts of Kansas, with more than 90 per cent of the crop now in the bin in central, south-central, northeast, east-central and southeast regions of the state, according to the US National Agricultural Statistic Service.

– Russia’s barley exports are down by 18 per cent for the 2015/16 season, compared to the previous year, according to reports. Russia exported 123,000 tonnes of barley as of May this year, compared to 297,000 tonnes in May, 2015.
– Feed Barley remained steady in Western Canada with top prices of C$3.40 to C$4.35 per bushel, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire.
– Top prices for feed wheat in Saskatchewan dropped by 40 cents to C$5.80 per bushel, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire. Top prices remained steady in Manitoba at C$5.75 per bushel and in Alberta at C$6.31 per bushel.
