WINNIPEG, September 1 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Thursday, September 1.
– Japan has lifted its restrictions on US wheat purchases and issued tenders for almost 58,000 tonnes of Western white wheat, according to reports. The country also ordered 33,000 tonnes of dark northern spring wheat and nearly 54,000 tonnes of wheat from Canada.
– Bulgaria harvested a record-high 5.6 million tonnes of wheat this year, the largest amount since 1980, according to the country’s agriculture ministry.
– Saskatchewan producers have combined 92 per cent of their winter wheat, according to the province’s weekly crop report.
– Feed barley in Western Canada was up on the week ending Thursday, with the exception of Alberta, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire. Saskatchewan top prices rose four cents to sit at C$2.75 per bushel, and Manitoba top prices jumped 15 cents to catch up, also settling at C$2.75 per bushel. Alberta top prices fell 11 cents to C$3.59 per bushel.
