WINNIPEG, September 9 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Friday, September 9.
– Canada exported 302,200 tonnes of wheat for the week ending September 4, according to the Canadian Grain Commission.
– Romanian grain trading house Cerealcom Dolj said it declined to ship wheat to Egypt because of the country’s new rules demanding zero ergot content, according to reports. Traders said that Egyptian inspectors had rejected a 63,000 tonne cargo in a Romanian port after inspecting for ergot, however the trading house refuted these claims.
– The winter wheat harvest in the UK is 90 per cent complete, with good quality being reported, according to Farmers Weekly. About 70 per cent of spring barley has also been combined.
– Feed barley in Western Canada remained steady with top prices of C$2.90 to C$3.61 per bushel, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire. Feed Wheat also remained steady with top prices ranging from C$4.60 to C$5.58 per bushel.
