WINNIPEG, September 12 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Monday, September 12.
– CBOT corn futures ended roughly one cent per bushel lower on Monday after the USDA’s monthly report indicated the upcoming corn harvest would still be massive despite some downgrading in yield estimates.
– The 2016 hard red wheat harvest in the US is virtually complete, according to uswheat.org. A report on the site notes North Dakota had a significant reduction of HRW acres this year.

– Hot temperatures in southern England are helping corn growers wrap up the harvest in timely fashion, according to a report in Farmers Weekly.
– According to a report on Bloomberg.com, Russia will almost certainly increase its feed-wheat exports in 2016/17. Last year the country exported 272,000 metric tonnes of feed but analysts say the amount this year could dwarf that. An area west of the Urals region is expected to supply a lion’s share of the feed, as 31 percent of the crop is likely headed for livestock.
– Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$162-$170 per tonne range as of September 9, which was C$4 lower than the week before, according to provincial reports. Feed wheat prices were in the C$184.50 to C$195.00 range which was down roughly C$10 from the previous week.
