WINNIPEG, October 3 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few
highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on
Monday, October 3.
– CBOT corn futures finished eight to nine cents higher on
Monday. Wet weather continues to slow the harvest in the US
Midwest while the latest hog numbers suggest demand for future
supplies is looming.
– Winter wheat in Manitoba is starting to emerge with

– The barley harvest in Alberta is a little over half done,
according to the latest crop report from the provincial
government.
– Ukraine’s grain export volumes for the 2016-17 season could
be over 40 million tonnes, according to a report.
– China is moving ahead with its latest plan to rid its stock
reserves of excess corn. Two companies have reportedly been
given the green light to start exporting corn to other countries
soon, according to various reports.
– Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of
Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$155 to C$165 per tonne
range as of October 3, which was slightly weaker than the
range, which was roughly C$5 weaker than the previous week.
