WINNIPEG, Nov. 29 (CNS Canada) The Canadian dollar was weaker Wednesday morning, hitting its lowest level relative to its U.S. counterpart in nearly a month as losses in crude oil weighed on the currency.

At 9:21 CST Wednesday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7771 or C$1.2868 which compares with Tuesday’s North American close of US$0.7808 or C$1.2807.

Better-than-expected U.S. economic data contributed to the relative weakness in the Canadian dollar, as the U.S. dollar index saw broad-based strength.

The TSX was weaker at 9:21 CST, down 25.32 points at 16,004.32.
