REVISED, April 14 — Grain company Viterra has added another Group 1 herbicide to its roster of company-branded weed killers.
The product, a clethodim herbicide Viterra has dubbed Shadow RTM, was billed as a post-emergent product for use against wild oats, green and yellow foxtail, Persian darnel, barnyardgrass and volunteer barley, oats, wheat and canaryseed.
Shadow RTM is registered for use in “several” broadleaf crops, the Regina-based company said, listing field peas, flax, canola, lentils and soybeans.
Clethodim is also an active ingredient in other companies’ broadleaf-crop herbicides such as Bayer CropScience’s Centurion, Arysta LifeScience’s Select and MANA’s Arrow.
Viterra last week released another Group 1 product, Foothills, a Horizon-type herbicide for use in spring wheat and durum crops.
Viterra also launched another Group 1 product, WildCat, for spring wheat, durum and barley growers in February, and a Group 1 and 4 combo, Cypress, last April.
