WINNIPEG, MB, Oct. 29, 2018 (CNS Canada) – The Canadian
dollar was mostly unchanged Monday morning.
At 8:41 CDT Monday morning the Canadian dollar was at
US$0.7631 or C$1.3112, which compares with Friday’s North
American close of US$0.7629 or C$1.3108.
Oil prices were down Monday morning, as concern about the
global economy weighed on the market. Brent crude prices lost
three U.S. cents to US$77.59 per barrel. United States light
crude fell six U.S. cents to US$67.53 per barrel.
Gold prices fell Monday morning, as the U.S. dollar and
European stocks rose. Spot gold dropped 0.3 per cent to
US$1,230.08 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures were also down 0.3
per cent to US$1,232.00 per ounce.
The Toronto TSX/S&P Composite Index was higher Monday
morning shortly after open. The TSX/S&P gained 112.64 points, or
0.76 percent, to 15,000.90 at 8:31 CDT.
