WINNIPEG, Jan. 10 (CNS Canada) – The Canadian dollar is down Thursday morning along with the stock market and oil.
At 8:53 CST Thursday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7549 or C$1.3243, which compares with Wednesday’s North American close of US$0.7564 or C$1.3221.
The TSX/S&P Composite Index was down 70.61 points Thursday morning at 14,734.12.
Stock markets in the United States were down as well Thursday morning, following the rally from Wednesday’s news the U.S. and China made progress in their trade talks. The Dow Jones dropped 126.83 points to 23,752.29, the S&P 500 lost 17.01 points to 2,568.64 and the NASDAQ fell 64.66 points to 6,892.42.
Oil prices are down 72 cents Thursday morning. West Texas Intermediate crude is at US$51.64 per barrel after closing Wednesday at US$52.36.
Gold is up by 50 cents Thursday morning to US$1,292.50 per ounce.
