Canadian dollar and business outlook

WINNIPEG, Nov. 13 (MarketsFarm) – The Canadian dollar was slightly weaker on Friday.

     At 8:30 CST Friday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7608 or US$1=C$1.3137, which compares with Thursday’s North American close of US$0.7620 or US$1=C$1.3123.

Global stock indices were stronger on Friday despite reports of spiking COVID-19 cases around the world. According to data from Johns Hopkins, the United States reported more than 150,000 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, which is a one-day record.

The TSX was up 139.94 at 8:40 CST to trade at 16,721.67 points.

Crude oil prices were slightly lower in early morning activity. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was down 35 cents at US$40.77 per barrel. Brent Crude lot 34 cents to trade at US$43.19.
