Canadian dollar and business outlook

WINNIPEG, Aug. 2 (MarketsFarm) – The Canadian dollar was slightly weaker relative to its United States counterpart Tuesday morning.
At 8:37 a.m. CDT Tuesday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7780 or US$1=C$1.2853, which compares with Friday’s close of US$0.7798 or US$1=C$1.2824. Canadian markets were closed Monday.
Crude oil was also holding near unchanged, with mounting concerns over a possible global recession countered by uncertainty ahead of an OPEC+ meeting on Wednesday. There are ideas the organization is unlikely to increase production at this time.
West Texas Intermediate down by 0.1 per cent at US$93.77 per barrel.
The TSX was down by 144.92 points at 8:37 CDT, trading at 19,548.00 points.
