Canadian Financial Close: C$ Weakens

WINNIPEG, Nov. 15 (CNS Canada) – The Canadian dollar was weaker on Wednesday, as losses in crude oil weighed on the energy-linked currency.

The Canadian dollar closed at US$0.7829 or US$1=C$1.2773, which compares with Tuesday’s close of US$0.7854, or US$1=C$1.2733.

The S&P/TSX Composite Index was lower on Wednesday, losing 34.65 points, to close at 15,878.48.

Canada’s agricultural sector faired as follows:
AGT Food and Ingredients—–up $ 0.38 at $ 18.80
Agrium Incorporated———-dn $ 0.05 at $134.17
Buhler Industries———— $ 0.00 at $ 4.45
Maple Leaf Foods————-dn $ 0.08 at $ 33.45
Potash Corp. of Sask———dn $ 0.01 at $ 24.06
