WINNIPEG, June 16 (MarketsFarm) – The Canadian dollar was slightly stronger on Tuesday.
The dollar finished the day at US$0.7376 or US$1=C$1.3558, compared to Monday when it closed at US$0.7355 or US$1=C$1.3596.
The Canadian Emergency Relief Benefit (CERB) will be extended by eight weeks. The eligibility period was set to expire July 4. Applicants will have to attest that they are looking for work during the period.
The TSX Composite Index was up 156.17 points to close at 15,515.83.
Benchmark crude oil prices were slightly stronger on the day. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was up US$1.02 to close at US$38.14. Brent Crude was up US$1.13 at US$40.85.
