U.S. nitrogen fertilizer maker Agrotain has rolled out a higher-concentrated liquid version of its Agrotain product for the Canadian ag market.

The new condensed formulation, dubbed Agrotain Ultra, cuts by 25 per cent the amount of product a grower must apply, the company said.

The new product is expected to make blending “faster and easier while reducing the quantity of bulk handled and stored.”

The St. Louis, Mo. firm’s products use its proprietary “StabilizedNitrogen” technology, which is meant to limit the volatility losses of nitrogen into the air following urea and UAN application, by inhibiting the urease enzyme in the soil.

Reducing volatilization extends the availability of nitrogen to plants, thus improving yield and plant health, the company said.
