The Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions plans to put a $500,000 federal investment to work on a survey of farm fair-goers.
In a federal government release Friday, CAFE said it will use the funding to conduct a Canada-wide survey of 16,800 fair and exhibition attendees.
“Results from
this study will help our agricultural societies and exhibition associations make the case for
continued support from sponsors and communities so that they continue to thrive,” CAFE president Rudy Friesen said in the government release.
The government said the results of the study will “help refine educational opportunities that exist at fairs and exhibitions, foster new partnerships, and generate new sponsorships.”
“By investing in this study today, we are ensuring
that for generations to come, these agricultural fairs and exhibitions can continue keeping
Canadians well informed about the importance of the agricultural industry,” said Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz, who announced the CAFE funding Friday at Crapaud, P.E.I.
