Ontario’s merged corn, soybean and wheat growers’ groups have unveiled their new brand under the name Grain Farmers of Ontario.

“GFO is proud of its three founding groups’ strong history of achievements,” CEO Barry Senft said in a release Tuesday.

“From those strengths, we are building an organization that will be both relevant — in light of the scale and complexity of today’s global commerce environment — and responsive to the grass roots farmers we represent.”

The GFO said its new logo was inspired by an aerial photo of the “patchwork quilt effect” of Ontario’s fields of corn, soybeans and wheat.

Barry Senft, the founding CEO of the five-year-old Seeds Canada organization is stepping down as of January 2026.

“The logo signifies the crop rotation, land stewardship, agronomics and innovation that are the basis of sustainability for Ontario’s grain and oilseed farm businesses,” the group said.

“The circular shape of the GFO brand signifies the inclusivity and strength of the new organization, which combines the interests of Ontario’s corn, soybean and wheat farmers.”

The structure and goals of the new GFO are expected to focus on research; marketing and market development; production information; and public outreach, policy development and advocacy.

“An important role of the new Grain Farmers of Ontario  organization will be to underscore the vital role its members play in the health of the Ontario and Canadian economy,” the group said.

GFO has already put up a joint website which it said will offer “access all of the resources Grain Farmers of Ontario will be providing to help Ontario’s corn, soybean and wheat farmers make daily business decisions” when the site is fully operational, expected Sept. 15.
