WINNIPEG, June 24 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Friday, June 24.

– CBOT corn futures were down on Friday, as broad-based selling pressure in most commodity markets following the British vote to leave the European Union (Brexit) weighed on prices. Good Midwestern weather and the rising US dollar were also bearish. The September contract was down 3.50 cents at US$3.89 per bushel.

– Statistics Canada releases updated acreage estimates on June 29, and average trade guesses are calling for little change from the 6.8 million acres of barley forecast earlier in the year. While feed grain prices have been under pressure since the original survey, the malting barley side of the equation was still favourable for growers, according to analysts.
