Feed grains: Corn gathers support from crude

Winnipeg, May 25 – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grain markets on Wednesday, May 25.

– Corn futures were two to five cents per bushel stronger in early activity on Wednesday, as stronger crude oil prices and spillover support from the soy complex underpinned the market.

– Delivered elevator prices for feed barley range from C$3.22 to C$3.75 per bushel in Saskatchewan, C$3.73 to C$4.10 in Alberta, and C$3.25 to C$4.62 in Manitoba, according to data collected by Prairie Ag Hotwire.

– US feed grain sales generated an additional US$62.6
million in business sales during 2014, according to a report released earlier in the week by Informa Economics. That figure includes corn, corn products, sorghum and barley.

– Delivered elevator prices for feed wheat range from C$4.92 to C$5.98 per bushel in Saskatchewan, C$5.41 to C$6.53 in Alberta, and C$6.10 in Manitoba, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire.
