WINNIPEG, May. 20 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Friday, May 20.
– CBOT corn futures finished 2-4 cents higher on Friday, with the July contract at US$3.9450 per bushel. The market took support from spillover gains in soymeal and reasonable demand.
– Japan used 1.7% more corn for animal feed in March than from a year ago.
– Colombia purchased 125,000 tonnes of corn for the 2015/16 marketing year, according to the USDA.

– 86% of France’s wheat crop is in good or excellent conditions, which is 1% lower than last week, according to the country’s agricultural department.
– Argentina’s corn harvest is roughly 28% complete according to the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange. That is down from the same time last year when the harvest was 35% complete.
– Strategie Grain raised its prediction for European Union barley production in 2016. The crop is estimated to be 62.5 million tonnes which is 1% higher than last year.
– Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$216.50 to C$218 per tonne range as of May 13, which was up slightly from the week before, according to provincial reports. Feed wheat prices were in the C$235 to C$237 range, which were one to three dollars more than the week before.
