WINNIPEG, July 19 (CNS Canada) – Grower price indications released by Prairie Ag Hotwire today show feed barley in Saskatchewan delivered to elevators at C$2.80 to C$3.30 per bushel. Alberta prices were quoted at C$3-C$4.33 per bu.
Feed wheat was quoted at C$3.15 to C$5.10 per bu. in Saskatchewan and C$4.14 to C$6.15 per bu. in Alberta.
Feed peas in Saskatchewan, at elevators ranged from C$3.40 to C$6.10 (FOB on farm C$5.50 – C$7.50) and Alberta elevator delivered feed peas ranged C$5.01 to C$5.85.

Dry conditions and fluctuating temperatures are delaying corn growth in Ukraine, according to UkrAgroConsult. The driest areas are being reported in the Kiev, Poltava and Cherkasy regions. Conditions are more favourable for growth in the west. In the Kiev region, temperature variations and lack of rain has delayed corn development by up to six days behind the long-term average.

Corn futures at the Chicago Board of Trade climbed 1.7 per cent today, lifted by expectations for more hot weather and limited rain in the main growing areas of the United States, which would curtail yields. September corn finished at US$3.82.5 per bushel, up 5.5 cents. December contracts finished 5.5 cents higher at US$3.96.25.
The GFS (Global Forecast System) weather model, developed by the U.S. National Centers for Environmental Information, has reduced some of the previous projections for heat and heavy rain in the U.S. cornbelt, but European models offer a different view.
