WINNIPEG, August 8 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Monday, August 8.
– Combining in the UK has picked up momentum, with wheat and spring barley harvests showing much better levels than French and German crops, according to reports.
– Barley prices in the key Lethbridge feeding area have lost five to six dollars per tonne over the past week, with current pricing around the C$169 per tonne area, according to reports. New crops have yet to hit the market, so prices are expected to continue declining.
– Canada exported 375,500 tonnes of wheat and 100 tonnes of barley for the week ending July 31, according to the Canadian Grain Commission’s latest report.
– Feed barley in Saskatchewan dropped 26 cents to top prices of C$2.79 per bushel, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire. Top prices in Manitoba remained steady at C$2.70 per bushel.
