Sept. 21 (CNS Canada) – Feed barley bids at Lethbridge, Alta., ranged from C$195 to C$200 per tonne, according to the latest Alberta government report released Sept. 15. That is in the same price range recorded the previous week.
Elevator bids for feed barley in Central Alberta, delivered, were C$156.13 compared to C$157.33 the previous week.
According to the latest Saskatchewan crop report released Sept. 21, barley in the province is 83 per cent combined. Spring wheat is 76 per cent combined, while winter wheat and fall rye harvests are complete.
Winter cereals planting in the Ukraine is 25 per cent done, with expectations for a seeded area of 17.86 million acres in 2017-18. About 95 per cent of that is expected in winter wheat and triticale, the rest in winter barley and fall rye.
Chicago corn futures finished steady with slight gains today. The December contract settled at US$3.5025 per bushel, up a quarter of a cent U.S. A USDA report on exports showed new crop corn sales of 526,867 tonnes for the week ending Sept. 14, which was below expectations.
