WINNIPEG, April 29 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Friday, April 29.
– CBOT corn futures were mixed on Friday, with month-end positioning the feature. The July contract was up a half cent at US$3.9175 per bushel.
– US farmers are expected to make good progress seeding this year’s corn crop over the next week, with forecasts calling for relatively favourable planting weather across the Midwest.
– The United Kingdom exported 512,500 tonnes of wheat and barley combined in February, which were the largest monthly grain exports in five years. During the crop year to date (beginning in July) the UK has exported 2.85 million tonnes of grain.

– Ukraine exported 75,900 tonnes of barley in March, which was up from the previous month, but well off the 206,800 tonnes exported during the same month the previous year, according to reports from the country. Ukraine has now exported 4.04 million tonnes of barley during the crop-year-to-date, which was down 4.5% on the year.
– Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$208 to C$218 per tonne area as of April 22 which was up at the top end but also down at the low end, according to provincial reports. Feed wheat prices were in the C$235 to C$240 range, which was relatively steady.
