- Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s new cabinet will be sworn in Tuesday. Expectations are for a tiered cabinet, with a smaller core cabinet and a secondary group of junior ministers or “secretaries of state.”
- Honda Canada will postpone a C$15 billion investment into Ontario, halting development of a proposed electric vehicle battery plant for approximately two years. “The company will continue to evaluate the timing and project progression as market conditions change,” said company spokesperson Ken Chiu in a statement Tuesday.
- Soybean, corn and wheat futures in the United States were all softer Tuesday morning, as good crop conditions across the country weighed on values. However, soyoil remained pointed higher. Malaysian palm oil was also up on the day after a long weekend.
