– The Canadian government is expected to announce Tuesday it will end COVID-19 vaccine mandates for domestic travel on planes and trains, as well as outbound international travel. The mandates, which had been in place since Oct. 30, 2021, can be re-implemented if there is another variant of concern. The federal government was under pressure from opposition parties and the air travel industry to remove the mandates due to long delays at major Canadian airports, most notably at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. Meanwhile, Alberta will end all COVID-19 public health restrictions at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
