- At least 10,000 people were reported missing in Libya along with 1,000 already confirmed dead after flooding caused by Storm Daniel hit the North African country. As much as a quarter of the coastal city of Derna was said to have been wiped out.
- North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived in Russia on Tuesday where he is expected to meet with President Vladimir Putin. Both countries are expected to offer increased support to the other, with North Korea becoming a major Russian ally during its war against Ukraine.
- The largest anti-trust case in the United States in 25 years is starting Tuesday as law makers attempt to prove that Google and its corporate parent Alphabet Inc. broke the law and rigged the market in their favour. A ruling isn’t expected until early next year.
