- The masked gunman who killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York Wednesday remained at large Thursday. Law enforcement officials said the shooter used ammunition with the words “deny,” “defend” and “depose,” written on the casings — a possible reference to the tactics health insurance companies use to avoid paying claims.
- Canada’s merchandise exports were up 1.1 per cent in October while imports rose 0.5 per cent, reported Statistics Canada. As a result, the country’s merchandise trade deficit narrowed to C$924 billion, from C$1.3 billion.
