Global markets: German output falls with sluggish export markets

WINNIPEG, September 7 – The following is a glance at the news moving markets globally.

GERMAN OUTPUT FALLS TO A TWO-YEAR-LOW
German output industrial production dropped the most in 23 months in July, according to reports on Wednesday.

Slower global export markets contributed to the declines, analysts say.

INDIA’S EXPORTS DECLINE, EXPECTED TO BE STEADY GOING FORWARD
India’s exports dropped 15.5 per cent from the previous year, according to reports out of the country on Wednesday.

Government officials say they expect the export pace to be slow and steady moving forward.

STATISTICS CANADA RELEASES GRAIN STOCKS NUMBERS
As of July 31, Canada’s total stock levels for wheat, canola and lentils were down from the same date a year earlier. Meanwhile, barley and oat stocks increased compared with July 31, 2015, Statistics Canada said in a report on Wednesday.
