- The Canadian Union of Postal Workers issued a 72-hour strike notice on Tuesday. That means Canada could be hit with a postal strike as early as Friday. Reports said the CUPW rejected Canada Post’s offer of an 11.5 per cent wage hike over four years, along with protecting the defined benefit pension for current employees, as well as job security and improved health benefits.

- German voters are set to head to the polls on Feb. 23 following the collapse of Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s coalition government. Scholz sacked Finance Minister Christian Lindner last week with the Free Democrats pulling out of the coalition government led by the Social Democrats. Scholz is widely expected to request today for a formal confidence vote on Dec. 16.
- Reports said on Tuesday that Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida is widely speculated to be President-elect Donald Trump’s top choice for Secretary of State. As well, Rep. Mike Waltz also of Florida is reportedly to become Trump’s National Security Advisor, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security and former Rep. Lee Zeldin of New York to head the Environmental Protection Agency.
- The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) continued in Baku, Azerbaijan on Tuesday. Delegates are set to discuss whether the average global temperature exceeded the critical 1.5 degree Celsius mark or not. Meanwhile, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev slammed critics as he defended his country’s economy being heavily dependent on its fossil fuel sector. The conference continues until Nov. 22.
