– The state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II was held in London on Monday, with hundreds of world leaders in attendance – including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The funeral procession through the streets of London was lined with tens of thousands of mourners. Canadian government offices were closed Monday in honour of the long-serving monarch.
– The power was out across most of Puerto Rico after Hurricane Fiona hit the Caribbean island on Sunday. The devasting Category 1 storm made landfall on the Dominican Republic on Monday, with flooding and landslides a concern.
– Canada’s Industrial Product Price Index was down by 1.2 per cent on a monthly basis in August, but still up by 10.6 per cent on the year, according to a report from Statistics Canada. The country’s Raw Materials Price Index was down by 4.2 per cent on the month, but up 17.6 per cent on an annual basis.
