– As Russian forces continue to bombard Ukraine, a proposal by Moscow that would create corridors for Ukrainians to flee via safe corridors to Belarus and Russia was criticized, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky calling the move “completely immoral.” More than 1.7 million Ukrainians have already fled the country into Central Europe.

– Russia was a no-show at a United Nations’ hearing at the International Court of Justice in The Hague on Monday. Ukraine called for an emergency order from the UN’s highest court to halt hostilities, arguing that Russia had falsely applied genocide law to justify the invasion. “The fact that Russia’s seats are empty speaks loudly. They are not here in this court of law: they are on a battlefield waging an aggressive war against my country,” said Ukrainian envoy Anton Korynevych.
