WINNIPEG, October 28 – The following is a glance at the news moving markets globally.

US ECONOMY ADVANCES WITH EXPORTS
The US economy advanced at the fastest rate in two years in the third quarter, according to reports out of the country on Friday.

America’s gross domestic product increased at a 2.9 per cent annual rate, market watchers say, underpinned by strong exports.

US LABOUR COSTS UP
US labour costs went up in the third quarter, as an index that measures those costs increased 0.6 per cent, reports say.

The rise was on par with analyst expectations.

CANADIAN COMPUTER PRICES FALL IN SEPTEMBER
The price of desktop and similar computers, laptop and tablet computers, and servers decreased 0.3 per cent in September. Lower prices for tablet computers, down 1.9 per cent, and desktop and similar computers, down 0.4 per cent, contributed to this decline, Statistics Canada said in a report on Friday.
