WINNIPEG, Feb. 4 (MarketsFarm) – The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.

– Canada’s Federal Court of Appeal will make a decision Tuesday on the fate of the Trans Mountain pipeline. Four British Columbia First Nations communities filed court challenges in the fall opposing the construction. While work is already underway on the expansion, a ruling in favour of the challengers would effectively halt that work.

– Citing “inconsistencies” the Iowa Democratic Party has delayed releasing the results of Monday’s caucuses to pick a presidential nominee to challenge Republican Donald Trump in the upcoming national election. Each U.S. state holds its own caucus or primary to pick delegates that will eventually choose the candidate in a national convention. Senator Bernie Sanders, of Vermont, was reportedly polling the highest in Iowa ahead of the caucus, with Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren, and former Vice President Joe Biden also reportedly strong contenders.
