The 2025 World Charolais Technical Congress took place April 20-29 in Aguascalientes, Mexico, with representatives from eight countries in attendance. Canadian representatives included Craig Scott of the Canadian Charolais Association and Helge and Candace By of the Charolais Banner.
On April 21, the Congress traveled to Edgardo Gonzalez’s ranch, Ganaderia El Mirador, and Antonio Delgado’s Rancho El Picacho. At El Mirador they learned how they utilize cactus in their feed ration and watched a charro competition.
On April 22, attendees heard technical presentations on Mexican agriculture production and trade issues, among other topics. This was followed by presentations from the U.S., New Zealand, Canada, France, Estonia, Columbia and Ireland.

On April 23, attendees travelled to Expo Ganadera Tepatitlan for the Mexico LII National Charolais Bull Show. Selected as National Grand Champion Bull was Redemi 90L, a 2023 son of CCC WC Redemption 7143 Pld ET and BRCHE Berkly Ann 8507 Pld ET, exhibited by l Terrero.

In the National Female Show, a daughter of LT Ledger 0332 P was selected as National Reserve Grand Champion Female for La Providencia.
On April 24, attendees visited the operation of Gena Agropecuaria. This family business has four breeds of cattle including Mexico’s largest Charolais herd of 1,500 females.
On April 25, attendees visited Hacienda San Bartolo in Jalisco. This historic setting, with a 17th-century hacienda, is home to 240 Charolais cows.

On April 26, P.J. Budler judged an excellent set of cattle at the Aguascalientes State Fair. Many international visitors took advantage of shopping, vineyard tours and live entertainment.
On April 28, they toured Tecnológico de Monterrey, where they were introduced to some of its current research projects. At Ranch San Juan, attendees toured the herd of Charolais and Charbray females and heard technical presentations from Neogen and Axiota Animal Health.
On the final day of the conference, many breeders and students judged Charolais and Charbray bulls at the Monterrey show. All countries extended many thanks to the host team for the excellent event.
