Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation recently announced the recipients of their 2023 scholarships. Each scholarship is valued at $3,000.
- Ruby Briand of Keene, Ont. is currently enrolled at Queens University in Kingston to obtain her bachelor of science in nursing.
- Jackson Goudy of Saskatoon, Sask. is attending the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, working towards his goal of veterinary medicine.
- Jordynn Rogers of Drayton Valley, Alta., is working towards her bachelor of arts degree at MacEwan University.
- Carmen Wolfe of Sundre, Alta., is attending the University of British Columbia to earn a bachelor degree in kinesiology.
The Trevor Vance First Year Scholarship, in memory of Trevor Edward Vance, was awarded to Danica Davis of Keene, Ont. This scholarship, valued at $3,000, will help Davis with her post-secondary schooling. She is currently enrolled at the University of PEI doing her honours bachelor of science in biology, working towards veterinary medicine.
Garth Rancier, president of Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation, commented “Once again it is great to see so many high-quality applications from across Canada. This year’s recipients have displayed leadership, development skills and a dedication to their community, as well as the livestock industry.”
